About the role : A Dental Assistant is URGENTLY needed to provide regualr dental services at the Springhill Institution in Springhill, Nova Scotia. We have numerous shifts to cover in the months of February and March and then 1-2 shifts/month for the remainder of the year. In this role you will provide intra and extra-oral dental assistant duties, working chairside with a Dentist to provide restorative dental services to the inmates of the facility. Extractions, root canals and fillings will be regular services, as well as providing pain management relief and responding to dental injuries from trauma and long standing complex chronic dental health concerns. Health education and teaching will also be an important part of this role. You will be responsible for preparing for patients treatments, sterilizing equipment, maintaining the schedule and monitoring the inventory of supplies.
